Organic Compounds (Hydrocarbons)

Chemical compounds with a basic carbon matrix together with other elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur, etc. A large number of organic compounds are responsible for considerable environmental pollution. Principal sources: Motor Vehicle traffic, the use of Solvents and firing installation. As it is too expensive, as a general rule, to identify and record the individual components of the organic compounds, organic compounds are generally stated as the total quantity of Hydrocarbons or as the total organic compounds (TOC).

> Chlorinated Hydrocarbons, Halogenated Hydrocarbons
