Biogas

A gas variously described as “Sewage gas”, “marsh gas”, “fermentation gas” or “refuse dump gas”, which occurs as result of the anaerobic Decomposition of Organic Compounds. Biogas consist largely of Methane, to a considerable percentage (30-40%) of Carbon Dioxide, and of a number of trace elements. Biogas offers considerable advantages compared with other energy-bearing substances, as for one thing it is one of the regenerative energies, frequently occurs of ist own accord, and does not require costly equipments for ist recovery, and can be burned with a low rate of Emissions (after treatment in a gas purification plant). Unused biogas contributes to environmental pollution.
